Twitter Marketing: Another way to Market for Free
If you are looking for an alternate approach to market your website, Twitter might just be the way to go. The account is free, and more over, you can make money by tweeting other's adds (explained below). However, you will need to set your account up in such a way that it will give your website backlinks, as well as attract followers.
Starting Off
Of course you need a Twitter account! Go to the site, and sign up for one. Although you can make your username whatever you want it to be, try making it one of your keywords. Then, in your description, write about your site! Make sure that you include your URL and desired keywords. Then, once you are logged in as yourself, edit your settings (scroll over your username in the top right, then click settings). Then click profile. Make your name your website's URL (without the http://www.), and hit save. This will give you a ton pf backlinks. It may also be worth your time to add a stock photo, which stands out more than the usual twitter "egg". Congrats, your account is ready for followers!
Getting Followers
To get followers after you have just created your account, you should go to some one's follower list, and follow those that follow a lot of people. Keep doing that until you reach your follow limit, give the people you followed a few days, and then unfollow all those who did not follow back with this free tool: http://manageflitter.com/connect. Keep up the process, and make sure to follow all those who follow you! As you gain popularity, you can receive a steady stream of visitors to your site. But don't stop there. Use another method of marketing to get traffic from the search engines, too!
